The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring the accurate preparation and maintenance of financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The ideal candidate will manage a team, assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and help improve financial processes within the organization.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure financial statements are accurate and compliant with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.
- Provide financial reports and insights to senior management for decision-making.
- Oversee the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or variances in financial data.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor and track spending against the budget, providing variance analysis.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure budgeting processes align with company goals.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and corporate policies.
- Prepare and file necessary tax filings (e.g., sales tax,.) in a timely manner.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, accounting procedures, and overall efficiency.
- Implement and support automation or new technologies to streamline accounting operations.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits.
- Ensure all documentation is prepared and available for audit review.
- Supervise and mentor a team of other financial staff.
- Assign tasks, monitor workloads, and provide training and development opportunities.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback for professional growth.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
- Proven experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- In-depth understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- This position is in a professional office environment.
- May require overtime during month-end, quarter-end, or year-end closing periods.
- This is largely a sedentary position.
- This position would require some lifting (up to 25lbs).
- Filing, bending, standing, reaching with hands/arms, etc. as necessary.
