USPS Announces 2021 Rate Increase

*Update: The PRC has approved the 2021 postage rate increase proposal.

The rates take effect on August 29, 2021. Here are some of the key changes to expect in August:

  • First-Class Mail® will increase overall by 6.8%.
  • Stamped Mail will be going up to 58 cents.
  • Metered Mail will be going up 2 cents to 53 cents.
  • Certified Mail® is increasing 4.2% from $3.60 to $3.75.

(July 8, 2021) As a response to changing market realities, the USPS has proposed a rate increase. This change includes popular services such as first-class mail, postcards, Certified Mail, and other services. If approved, changes will go in effect August 29, 2021. See the chart below on the proposed changes. This blog will be updated in accordance with any changes going into effect.
