Service Technician

Location: Buffalo, NY

COMPENSATION:

$20 – $21/hr

Service Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

As Field Service Technician you will be responsible for the repair and service of document handling equipment, mailing systems, software, and other office equipment.  This includes, but is not limited to; Mail Machines, Folder/Inserters, Letter Openers, Address Printers, and Shredders.  This job is primarily customer facing at businesses in the surrounding area.  This position is customer service focused with strong electro-mechanical and PC skills.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Travel to customers location to install, service and maintain customer equipment
  • Provide operator training
  • Perform phone support
  • Complete paperwork
  • Adhere to USPS regulations/guidelines
  • Manage and maintain a personal spare parts inventory
  • Become trained /certified on new products as they are introduced

  • And other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Reliable transportation
  • Good driving record / Current valid Real ID Driver’s License
  • Requires lifting up to 75lbs
  • Strong work ethic
  • Pass a background check
  • Must have strong electro-mechanical skills
  • Must have good PC skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently and make effective decisions

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
  • This position is primarily in the field at customer sites.
  • Standard and specialized office equipment is used – such as computers, phones, multifunctional devices, mail machines, folder inserters, printers, sorters, etc.
  • This is mainly an active position that requires ability to be on feet for 5-7 hours a day.
  • This position requires lifting (up to 75lbs).
  • Filing, bending, standing, reaching with hands/arms, using tools, etc. as necessary.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to speak and hear.

TRAVEL:
• This position requires local travel with occasional out of state training travel that lasts between 3 to 5 days on average.
